The traditional Felke therapy with its effective and relaxing treatments has its origin in Emanuel Felke (1856-1926), a famous natural healer and a pioneer of the idea of Medical Wellness. He has been pastor because of his job and healing person because of his vocation. From 1915 to 1926 he worked in Bad Sobernheim and laid the foundation for the development of the lovely place in the region Naheland to a state-recognized Felke health spa. Felke has completed the already well-known natural medicine of light, air and water with the element of clay. The “healing earth” has become the centre of his therapy.

During the last years scientific studies have repeatedly confirmed the efficiency of Felke treatments,

especially in connection with the agreeable cleansing effect of therapeutic fasting. Felke treatments

contribute to a clearly measurable breaking down of risk factors for your health. Excessive values of cholesterol, uric acid and liver are falling down and morbid blood pressure values are normalizing. With a new test procedure now is confirmed a double or treble stimulation of the immune system. That means an enormous improvement of the body’s defences. The clay stimulates the metabolism, digestion and lymphatic system. Skin which is covered with clay gives off harmful acids and detoxifies the organism. From that reason for many people Felke therapy is today an important element of Medical Wellness for the challenges of their everyday life!

Therapeutic fasting following Buchinger is a low calorie fluid diet. With herbal teas, fresh vegetable soups, freshly pressed fruit juices and mineral water the body is supplied with important vitamins and basic minerals (250kcal/day). With an intensive purification of the body and the revitalization of the tissue one lose surplus pounds (300 to 500 gram daily).

The holistic Therapeutic Fasting activates body’s self-healing forces. Chronic diseases such as vascular lesions, high blood pressure, alimentary diseases, allergies, metabolic and rheumatic diseases make a lasting improvement and new diseases get prevention against them. Valuable tips, knowledge and practical suggestions for the nutrition at home are given during a stay in Menschels Vitalresort. Our aim is a change of the patient’s lifestyle to a healthy one.

Therapeutic fasting happens under supervision and with a regular consultation of the doctors’ team. It is combined with complementary therapies, well dosed physical exercise and a wellness program. If additional drug treatment is necessary, herbal or homoeopathic medicines is primarily considered. Before your fasting days we recommend two days of relief at home – with vegetables, rice or raw vegetables.
