H&L Studio Dental is located in the border city of Matamoros, Mexico, just half a block from one of the main international bridges into Brownsville (Texas) and three blocks from another. The clinic is headed by a well-qualified, board-registered dentist who is experienced in treating international patients, particularly US citizens seeking more affordable care in Mexico.
The modern clinic offers a wide variety of treatments along with attentive helpful staff and specialized dental surgeons who’ve trained in both Mexico and abroad. The team works together to provide all patients with tailor-made treatments that meet their health, aesthetic, functional and budgetary requirements. They are constantly updating their facilities to be at the forefront of dentistry and are highly trained in the latest digital dentistry techniques.
Heading H&L Studio Dental is Dr. Hugo Contreras who is recognized as one of the top specialists in veneers, smile design and smile makeovers in the region. Having undertaken part of his training in Brazil, he is registered with both the Brazilian Association of Dentistry and the Mexican Association of Dentistry.
He works alongside Dr. Genesis Uribe, who, after graduating with her dental surgeon’s degree has undertaken additional certification in orthodontics, oral surgery, ortho-implants and orofacial harmonization.
H&L Studio Dental provides state-of-the-art equipment, such as a 3D oral scanner which is the base for the most modern dentistry. The center also has its own dental laboratory, facilitating rapid delivery of prosthetic devices, such as crowns and veneers–a time-saving benefit for patients short on time and not wanting to make several trips back and forth from the US.

This clinic listened to my concerns and wants. Gave me a few options, we talked through money and scheduled a time. They were very accommodating and professional. Every question about my stay was answered and given options. The office was very professional and nice and clean. The overall product was great and they know what they are doing. From the techs to the Dr to the assistant everyone treated my concerns with respect. After the procedure, they sat and talked about care of the veneers and my teeth. I am happy and ready to go back for my check-up.

I had a 20 veneer ceramic treatment about 8 months ago with Dr Hugo Contreras and I can eat everything I want. He was so perfect, he checked every detail of design and function and his staff is so nice. I'm speechless at how much attention they gave me. They were there every step of the way. My son got braces. I got a root canal and crown. Professional and took the time to explain procedures and rain for recommendations. Clinic was close to the bridge, making it easy to cross over walking. X-rays were outsourced but a car service was provided.

These guys are professional beyond belief. Initially, I thought this was different than any USA dentist, they are not recommending/pushing Xray or anything. They are better than that ---they pointed out all my 'problem areas' and I was able to pick -- I want those cavities filled, leave that, and I also want a polished and clean. They worked with me, I had a crown, two fillings, and a full cleaning and polishing. Fantastic job, would seriously 100% recommend it. This seems odd to say, but the tech these guys have is way beyond the US-based dentist in the area of tech.

HyL offered to have a driver pick me up at the boarder, but I wanted to walk the short distance. The clinic is a ten minute walk from the boarder, making access very convenient for US citizens. Both Dr. Contreras and Dr. Uribe were extremely patient in listening to my dental history treatment concerns and dental goals. Dr. Contreras was very professional and understanding when I declined his treatment recommendation. His dental work was excellent and Dr. Uribe ensured that overnight hotel accommodations were reset after a hotel scheduling mishap. Diana the Dental Hygienist was gentle and thorough. The dental onlay feels firm and I will be returning soon for a crown and implant. The professionals like doctors Contreras and Uribe in Matamoros Mexico build confidence for US citizens to consider reducing their dental cost and increasing dental health. Thank you to all the staff at HyL Studio Dental for making my experience a pleasant one.

They did a great job on my teeth. Rebuilt the tops and bottom’s. Well worth the drive and crossing the border. Much better than the work I have had done in the US.

They were very good. Had a crown partial crown and a root canal. They spent the time needed to do it right. Felt more comfortable with their abilities than the dentist I have been going to for 25 years in wichita KS. They picked me up and dropped me off at the border.
